Energy From Waste
MESE Energy from Waste Plant, Stoke Est. 1997
This plant was constructed in 1997 and has a licenced capacity to incinerate 210,000 tonnes per annum (operational capacity of 206,000 tonnes).
The plant is fitted with two CNIM boilers, each one is capable of burning up to 12.5 tonnes of waste and producing up to 36 tonnes of steam per hour. It can generate 15MW of electricity.
The main source of fuel to power the plant is mixed municipal waste.
